Josh & Tirzah's Snowy Morning // Hillsdale, MI

I'm so excited to share this lovely wedding with you all.  It was one of those happy affairs that just makes you feel good inside (as I edit and look though these photos I can't help but smile).

Josh & Tirzah's day was perfect.  From one of the very first emails I received from Tirzah she expressed her wish to take photos in the snow.  As their wedding quickly approached the chance of snow making an appearance seemed to fade... There was a 30% chance on the day but with only flurries expected.  We all woke up pleasantly surprised though, when a thin layer of snow greeted us early in the morning!

It was such a special experience for me to be a part of Josh & Tirzah's wedding.  I am so glad I have been able to get to know both of them over the last many months; photographing a wedding becomes all the more special when I am able to connect with the couple, get to know them, and consider them as friends.  I must admit that many times throughout the day I had to try not to cry... from the amazing couple, their beloved close family and friends present, to the Christ-centered aspect of the entire day, and heartfelt speeches from the wedding party... all were cry worthy (in the best of ways).

So sit back with a cup of hot cocoa and your favorite music and watch Josh & Tirzah's winter wedding day unfold.

  1. Beautiful beautiful Joanna! You have really grown in your photography skill! These images are very whimsical and fresh! This has to be one of the prettiest winter weddings I've ever seen. I kept waiting to see a "Titanic" pose with the groomsmen- who were all holding each other! HAHA!

  2. These are such gorgeous photos, Joanna! I love them!

  3. All I can say is......BEAUTIFUL! Great job! :)

  4. these are just darling! i absolutely adore her hair and the joy is so tangible in these. you absolutely rocked these, girl!

  5. Their in-house catering is remarkable. The food was delicious. So many of our guests (including and especially the foodies) have told us it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. The service at Seattle Wedding venues was impeccable but not overly formal.
